viRACE is social fitness service for outdoor runs. viRace is a platform by Quevita AG (collectively, “viRACE”, “we,” “us” or “our”), with its headquarters in Olten, Switzerland.  viRACE is a community-driven platform (“platform”).

We create virtual experiences and group events so that you can interact with other people who use viRACE. This means that viRACE is a social platform, and that your profile information and information about your runs and races is shared with other users. 

The privacy of our users is important to us and we have prepared this Privacy Policy to explain to you how we collect, use, and share information we obtain through your use of the websites, APP and other services (“Services”) that are operated or controlled by viRACE.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of the policy and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or sending you a notification). We encourage you to review the Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services or otherwise interact with us to stay informed about our information practices and the choices available to you.

The protection of personal information is of the utmost importance to viRACE. viRACE includes these data protection provisions to inform users and visitors of how the personal information is processed.
The collection, processing and use of personal data by viRACE are performed in accordance with the relevant Swiss data protection provisions.

  • viRACE only uses personal information to facilitate the performance of the services on the platform which require registration.
  • Some organizers send physical prizes or medals. You can enter your home or delivery address here. Not all organizers ship worldwide. All information will be treated confidentially and will only be passed on to the organizer in case of a win.
  • In his profile, the user can set his own privacy level individually and decide how visible he should be on the platform.
  • A registered user can configure individually on his profile which name should be displayed (full name, nickname, completely anonymous).
  • A viRACE user may invite other people to become viRACE members. viRace only uses the personal information collected to send the invitation.
  • viRACE regularly sends newsletters to all viRACE users. In these newsletters viRACE informs the users about new features on the platform, features from other Quevita AG platforms, offers from partners, blogs, events, etc.
  • Cookies are used on the viRACE platform to allow identification of the user for the period of his visit. Access data are saved in a log file every time the page is opened. The data record saved includes the IP address, the remote host, the time, the status, the data flow transferred, the referrer page and the product and version information of the browser use (user agent).
  • The procedure for deleting an account and the handling of personal user information and contributions to the viRACE platform are outlined in the General Terms and Conditions (GTCs).
  • The viRACE data protection provisions are available to view using the “Data protection” link at all times and form part of the GTCs.

For simplicity reasons, the data protection provisions always use the masculine form of words to refer to people. However, it should be understood that both sexes are always inferred unless expressly stated otherwise.

Location data

We collect and process location data when you actively participate with the app in a competition. In order to be able to track even when screen is locked, we need access to your location with the setting “Always”. We do not track your device location if you are not using viRACE. However, in order to provide the core services of viRACE, we must track your device location while you are using viRACE. If you wish to stop tracking your device location, you can change your device location at any time via your device settings.

Google Analytics Privacy Policy

This website uses Google™ Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer, to help analyze how users use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other with website and internet related services.
